Last week we donned hard hats and steel-toed boots and made our way to Regent Park for a site visit of the 40 Oaks building. We wanted to check out the progress, get a physical sense of the plans we’ve been looking at, and get an idea of the space where the art and installation pieces we and other designers have been working on will be going. The construction crew welcomed us in, showed us around, and graciously allowed us to take tons of photos.
The multi-faith worship space is coming along nicely with a beautiful curved wall and differently shaped and spaced windows to let in some magnificent glowing light patterns. The space felt calm and meditative despite the construction around us, clearly a good sign. While most walls are still insulation, we got a nice idea of what a great building it will be when it’s done, and got pumped for our various design projects. We’ll definitely be going back at a later date to see more progress and get even more exited about this project.
