Bio / Description

Christina Zeidler and Deanne Lehtinen are partners in art and love. They are working together for PDA to create an innovative lighting design with “upcycled” materials.

Christina Zeidler has been the Developer and President of the GLADSTONE HOTEL since 2003, focusing on the renovation and revitalization of the building through a community based approach. She was the creator of the “Artist Designed Room Project” (using 37 local artist/designers to implement individually designed hotel rooms) even creating a room herself entitled “snapshot”. She is also the founder of The Gladstone’s Come Up To My Room alternative design event. Christina is a film and video artist with over thirty titles in distribution, which have shown internationally at festivals and appeared on television. In her spare time Christina engages in as much community activism as possible.

Deanne Lehtinen is a furniture design/builder who graduated from Sheridan’s SOCAD program in 2001. Since then she has worked on custom pieces for independent collectors in the Toronto area and participated in a number of design shows including Come Up To My Room and Radiant Dark. She designed the “Lehtinen Lodge” artist designed room at the Gladstone Hotel and was one of the major fabricators for the entire hotel room project. Currently she shows her work with MADE in Toronto.
