Dylan McKinnon Furniture Design will be producing furniture for the PDA for 40 Oaks project. For those of you who don’t know, all of the furniture produced for the project are originals made from at least 70% reclaimed material.

Dylan McKinnon Furniture Design is a studio-based design practice in Toronto, Canada, producing speculative and commission based works. Material objects, and furniture in particular, shape the spaces we occupy and these spaces, in turn, shape us. The intention of this practice is to create objects that participate in this dialogue in a positive and helpful way.

These works, designed to speak effortlessly and to the point, are the product of a reductive design process; one in which ideas are presented, considered and, more often than not, eliminated. Drawing on established furniture typologies, forms are refined while adhering to a sensibility that is rational, sincere, and quietly humorous.

Dylan is currently Fellow-in-Residence at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Canada.
