Featured Designers: Christina Zeidler & Deanne Lehtinen

Christina and Deanne were two of the first to commit to this project when we began approaching designers last fall. For Edmond Place they will be producing a lighting fixture for one of the amenity spaces using ‘upcycled materials’.

Christina and Deanne have a strong presence in the art, design and neighbourhood community. Christina is a film and video artist with over thirty titles in distribution, which have shown internationally at festivals and appeared on television. She has also been developing the Gladstone Hotel since 2003 as a values-based business which “fosters a healthy micro economy in order to support healthy development, small business, light industry, cultural work and good times!” Deanne is a furniture design/builder producing custom pieces for individuals and participating in design shows, such as Come Up To My Room and Radiant Dark. On top of designing Room 410 at the Gladstone with her brother, Deanne was one of the major fabricators for the entire hotel room project.
