Ivan Lizias Rubim Duarte Pinto, Danya Sturgess & Amir Hosseindoust will be producing furniture for the PDA for 40 Oaks project. For those of you who don’t know, all of the furniture produced for the project are originals made from at least 70% reclaimed material.

The Ryerson University design team is composed of three graduate students with diverse backgrounds.  Ivan Lizias Rubim Duarte Pinto hails from Brazil, and is a skilled Architect and Urban Planner (BR) with over 7 years of experience in the architectural field and he is in the process of completing his Masters of Building Science degree.  Danya Sturgess completed her Bachelor of Architecture Studies at the University of Waterloo, and has had several years of experience working in architecture practices across Canada and Europe before beginning her Masters of Architecture in 2010.  Amir Hosseindoust has a Bachelor of Applied Technology Degree in Construction Science and Management and has several years of experience working as an Estimator and Project Management assistant in large general contracting firms, specialized in the ICI sector across the GTA. Amir is in the process of completing his Masters of Building Science degree. The team is keen to develop and contribute a piece for this great project and to explore the challenge of creating fine furniture with found materials.
