Sissel Marie is a video and image maker/investigator of words and ideas within fine arts and culture. She is from Copenhagen, Denmark, lives in Copenhagen/Toronto and studies Film and Media at the University of Copenhagen. Right now Sissel Marie is inspired by natural and urban environments, memory, German industrialism, sound.
Sissel Marie works with video/sound installation and performance with Michael James (www.myspace.com/thismonthonly) and occasionally does freelance writing on film, art and cultural studies. She became intrigued with the work of PDA at a talk at the Gladstone by Parimal Gosai and Adam Harris, who questioned the role of cultural products and artistic ideas for the seldom considered target group for design. She has followed the PDA workshop at PARC, exploring her own debut as a chair-maker, as well as the inspiring thoughts and visions of PDA.
For Edmond Place, Sissel Marie has produced a chair.
